The Museum is dedicated to jean Cocteau (1889-1963), french poet, elected to the Académie Française in 1955, and artist of many talents since he also, graphic designer, cartoonist, playwright, and filmmaker.

Séverin Wunderman, businessman and American collector of Belgian origin, fascinated by the protean work of Jean Cocteau, brings together an extraordinary collection throughout his life. That's why we associate the Museum Jean Cocteau - Severin WUNDERMAN Collection.

The Museum provides the 1910s to the 1950s on 2 700 m² work of the poet in all its facets, and offers visitors to the exhibition spaces of the collections and temporary exhibitions, a pedagogical workshop, a graphic arts firm, a space of information resources, a café, a shop Bookstore.

The visit to the Museum continues the Bastion which landscaping was designed by Jean Cocteau between 1958 and 1963. Famous drawings of the Innamorati, studies for the decorations of the marriage hall, as well as the pottery made in the Madeline-Jolly workshop are presented.

Note that the architecture of the building is gorgeous, it was made by the architect Rudy Ricciotti (Architecture Grand Award National), who also designed and directed the MUCEM of Marseille.
