Inspired by the villas of Tuscany or the Venetian palaces, the painter academician Jean-Gabriel DOMERGUE, cousin of Toulouse-Lautrec, curator of the Museum Marmottan in Paris and prominent in Cannes for its receptions, drawn this art deco villa in 1934. Theatre of lavish parties, the Villa Domergue is known worldwide because it is here that the Cannes film Festival jury meets to elect the palme d'Or.
It is the wife of Jean-Gabriel DOMERGUE, the Odette Maugendre sculptress, who designed the Mediterranean gardens in terraces, ponds and waterfalls.
Located on the California Hill, the villa has a beautiful view of the Bay of Cannes and the Esterel.
Open daily from 11:00 to 19:00 from July 01 to September 28, 2014.
Visit of the permanent collection, the villa and its gardens.
