The Picasso Museum, occupies the Château Grimaldi in Antibes (class Historic Monuments in 1928).
Beautifully located by the sea, on the ramparts, the Museum features 245 exceptional works of Picasso, as well as the works of important artists of the twentieth century as Nicolas de Staël, light Fernand, Hans Hartung, Anna-Eva Bergman; on the huge terrace, are visible at all times a remarkable collection of sculptures by Germaine Richier, and works by Miro, Bernard Pagès, Anne and Patrick Poirier.
Picasso liked on the Côte d'Azur. He worked in ceramics in Vallauris ; lived in California Villa Cannes in 1955, and went to live in his last home in Mougins. So, you can follow a "Picasso route" through the National Picasso Museum and the Romanesque chapel of Vallauris, and by the Museum of the photography of Mougins...
